Tesla Motors announced that they will be adding enough Super Chargers to allow drivers of their cars to travel across the US and Canada by the end of 2015. As of this writing there are only 8 charging stations in the USA, by 2015 98% of the country allowing Tesla owners to travel from coast to coast without the fear of getting stranded.
On Tesla’s super charger page they state, ”Superchargers are located near amenities like roadside diners, cafes, and shopping centers. Road trippers can stop for a quick meal and have their Model S charged when they’re done.” When this happens, it will be a paradigm shift in the way that people view not only Tesla, but all Electric Vehicles. No longer will EVs be for an exclusive class of citizens that have charging stations near them but they will be more accepted as a mode of long distance travel.
